Best Vegan Ice Creams in the UK (2025)

If you know me, you know I am completely obsessed with mint chocolate ice cream. The only problem? When I went looking for the best vegan ice creams in the UK, I could only find decent mint chocolate chip versions in small cafés and artisan shops, not the supermarkets. One day, hopefully, that will change.

In the meantime, when it comes to supermarket finds, my favourite mainstream vegan ice cream is Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough.

When I am in the mood for something on a stick, nothing beats the Magnum Vegan Almond. Creamy, chocolatey, and just the right amount of crunch.

Luckily, finding the best vegan ice creams in the UK has never been easier. Whether you want a tub to demolish on the sofa or a posh treat for a sunny day, there are loads of brilliant vegan options now.

Big Brands You Can Find in Supermarkets

Ben & Jerry’s Non-Dairy Range

Ben & Jerry’s have seriously raised the bar with their vegan ice creams.

They originally used almond milk, but they are now transitioning many of their flavours to oat milk instead.

Oat milk gives the ice cream an even smoother texture and makes it a better choice for anyone avoiding nuts. Apart from that small change, I absolutely love it.

Current UK vegan flavours include:

  • Peanut Butter & Cookies
  • Chocolate Fudge Brownie
  • Netflix & Chilll’d (peanut butter ice cream with salty pretzel swirls and fudge brownies)
  • Cookies on Cookie Dough (my personal favourite)
  • Berry Revolutionary (raspberry ice cream with cookie pieces)
  • Oat of This Swirled (burnt sugar oat ice cream with cinnamon oat cookies and marshmallowy caramel swirls)

You can find Ben & Jerry’s non-dairy range in most big supermarkets. Some flavours can be harder to track down, but they are worth the hunt.

Häagen-Dazs Vegan Range

Häagen-Dazs have taken a slightly different route, using oat milk to create a rich, dense ice cream that feels more grown-up than some others.

Their UK vegan flavours are:

  • Chocolate Peanut Butter
  • Vanilla Raspberry Truffle
  • Caramel Fudge Chip

They are not stocked in every supermarket yet, but they are popping up more often.

Magnum Vegan Ice Creams

Magnum have managed to turn their classic chocolate-covered ice cream bars into vegan versions without losing any of the indulgence.

They are some of the best vegan ice creams in the UK if you prefer a stick over a tub.

Available options include:

  • Vegan Classic (dark chocolate coating over vanilla ice cream)
  • Vegan Almond (dark chocolate with roasted almond pieces)

You can pick up Magnum Vegan singles and multipacks in most supermarkets.

Co-op GRO Vegan Ice Cream

Co-op’s GRO range offers great value vegan ice cream without sacrificing flavour.

Current options include:

  • Salted Caramel Swirl with vegan-friendly honeycomb pieces
  • Chocolate Brownie with a rich cocoa base and chunks of brownie

The GRO range is a brilliant choice if you want a cheaper, easy-to-find vegan treat.

Swedish Glace were making vegan ice cream before it was cool.

Their ice creams are lighter, a little fluffier, and perfect if you prefer simple, classic flavours.

Available flavours include:

  • Smooth Vanilla
  • Heavenly Chocolate
  • Delightful Raspberry
  • Soft Toffee & Caramel Cones

Swedish Glace also suits anyone who needs both dairy-free and nut-free options.

If you have been wondering when the affiliate link would sneak in, here it is.

No, NOMO do not sell ready-made vegan ice cream. If they did, believe me, it would be headline news.

However, they do have a brilliant recipe for Double Choc Chip Vegan Ice Cream made with NOMO chocolate bars and buttons.

It is rich, chocolatey, and definitely worth trying if you fancy making your own.

You can check out the recipe here on NOMO’s blog.

If you need some NOMO chocolate for the recipe (or just for yourself), click here to order direct from NOMO.

Slightly tenuous, I know, but chocolate is chocolate.
