I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just want something sweet that isn’t a piece of fruit or a date ball pretending to be chocolate. I’m talking about real desserts, creamy, chocolatey, fruity, cakey goodness that just happens to be vegan.
Luckily, there are some brilliant options now in UK supermarkets. Whether you’re after a fancy pudding, a grab-from-the-fridge choc pot, or a surprisingly good supermarket cake, you don’t need to miss out. These are the best vegan desserts in the UK right now, from fridge staples to lesser-known options you can pick up mid-week.
My Favourites
Let’s start with the ones I eat most often, the ones I go back to again and again.

Where to find them: Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Ocado
The Coconut Collaborative Choc Pots – Tiny, rich, and satisfying. They’re creamy and decadent without being too much.
Where to find them: Most supermarkets including Tesco and Asda
Alpro Dark Chocolate & Vanilla Soya Desserts – Affordable, easy to find, and ideal for mid-week cravings. The chocolate one feels nostalgic.
Where to find them: Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Co-op, Morrisons, Asda
Co-op GRO Cakes – Co-op have quietly smashed it with their vegan range. The chocolate cake and lemon loaf are both really good.

Vegan-Labelled Desserts
These are clearly marked vegan and easy to spot, no ingredient label scanning required.

What Does “Accidentally Vegan” Mean?
“Accidentally vegan” means the product just happens to be vegan. It wasn’t made with us in mind, but the ingredients are free from animal products. No dairy, no eggs, no gelatine, no honey. These aren’t usually labelled vegan, but they’re safe to eat if you check the label. Always double check the packaging in case something changes.
