If there’s one thing I always crave when I’m back in the UK (I travel a lot) it’s pizza. Not a salad-topped flatbread pretending to be pizza. I mean melty, satisfying, get-a-napkin-for-your-face pizza. And thankfully, being vegan doesn’t mean you have to miss out.
Over the years, I’ve eaten a lot of vegan pizza, from frozen supermarket ones to restaurant menus and big-name delivery chains. Some are brilliant, some are meh, and a few have genuinely surprised me. So here’s a full rundown of the best vegan pizzas in the UK, starting with my go-tos.
My Favourite Vegan Pizzas
Domino’s Veggie Supreme (Vegan Version)
Let’s start strong. This is my number one. Every time I return to the UK, it’s the first thing I order. The vegan version of the Veggie Supreme is just perfect, loaded with vegetables, decent crust, great texture, and that cheesy satisfaction I used to miss. It’s one of the best takeaway pizzas out there, vegan or not. Available from Domino’s nationwide for delivery or collection. As a bonus I love their delivery app.
White Rabbit Vegan Pizzas
These are consistently good and found in loads of supermarkets. Their bases are authentic sourdough, the toppings are interesting, and they don’t overload it with vegan cheese just for the sake of it. Balanced and flavourful, exactly what a pizza should be. Available in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, and Ocado.
Pizza Express Vegan Options
Pizza Express has really upped their game. Their vegan Giardiniera and vegan American Hot are both excellent, and they now offer vegan mozzarella as standard. Great for eat-in or takeaway, and you always know what you’re getting. Their chilled pizzas in supermarkets are also top-tier, same reliable quality, just bake and go. Restaurant locations across the UK and chilled versions in major supermarkets.
Sainsbury’s Meatless Farm Spicy Pepperoni Style Sourdough Pizza
I recently tried this one and was seriously impressed. The base was crisp, the plant-based pepperoni had a nice kick, and the overall flavour was spot on. Definitely worth picking up if you spot it in the chilled section.
Zizzi Vegan Rustica Pizza
Zizzi offers a genuine restaurant pizza experience, and their vegan Rustica pizzas are huge, thin, and full of flavour. Worth booking a table for, especially if you’re with non-vegan friends. Plus, they serve deep-fried pasta chips as a side, a crunchy, salty delight that pairs perfectly with their pizzas. Dine-in at Zizzi restaurants nationwide.
Other Top-Rated Vegan Pizzas to Try
Goodfella’s Vegan Stonebaked Falafel Pizza
An affordable frozen option that’s easy to find. The falafel topping is a bit niche, but the base and sauce are solid. A good one to have on standby. Available in most major supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, and Morrisons.
One Planet Pizza
One of the UK’s original vegan frozen pizza brands. They do a variety of flavours, and while they’re a bit smaller in size, the taste is spot on. The bases are handmade, the toppings are inventive, and they’re a great freezer staple. You can find them in Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Whole Foods, Planet Organic, selected Co-op stores, independent health shops, and via their own website.
Oumph! Pizza (Iceland)
Spicy and packed with toppings, this one is surprisingly decent for a budget option. Iceland have been pushing vegan food hard, and this is one of their better efforts. Available exclusively at Iceland.
Crosta & Mollica Verdure Sourdough Pizza
A premium option with grilled vegetables and Taggiasca olives on a sourdough base. The flavours are rich and satisfying, making it a great choice for a special night in. Available in Waitrose, Ocado, and other premium supermarket retailers.

Supermarket Own-Brand Vegan Pizzas
This pizza features a woodfired, slow-proved base topped with sticky barbecue sauce, balsamic onions, peppers, mushrooms, and sweetcorn. It’s a plant-based option that’s both delicious and satisfying.
Tesco Plant Chef BBQ Jackfruit Pizza
Sweet and smoky jackfruit on a thin crust base. A unique flavour profile that’s worth trying if you’re in the mood for something different.
Asda Plant Based Meat-Free Pepperoni Pizza
A classic pepperoni-style pizza with plant-based toppings. It’s a solid choice for a quick and easy meal.
Tips for Buying or Ordering Vegan Pizza
- Check the cheese – Not all pizzas labelled “vegan” include vegan cheese. Some go cheese-free and rely on sauces.
- Look at the base – Sourdough tends to have more flavour and texture than standard frozen bases.
- DIY it – Grab a plain vegan base, add your own toppings, and whack it in the oven. Perfect if you like a bit of control. BOSH have a great Texan BBQ pizza recipe if you fancy trying your own.
- Chain extras – Most big chains now offer vegan cheese and multiple topping combos, so customise away.
Final Thoughts
Vegan pizza in the UK isn’t just a sad slice of tomato and a cheese free base anymore. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick frozen option, a delivery night treat, or restaurant-quality, there’s something for every taste and budget.
Start with the Domino’s Veggie Supreme if you want pure comfort. Grab a White Rabbit for a reliable supermarket dinner. Or branch out and try something new, because in 2025, vegan pizza is absolutely having a moment.
