Vegan ready meal trays with beans, wild rice, and vegetables – perfect for plant-based convenience food in the UK

Best Vegan Ready Meals in the UK (2025)

Let’s get one thing clear: being vegan doesn’t mean you miss out on convenience. Whether you’re travelling, busy, or just want to pop something in the oven and chill, the UK has some brilliant vegan ready meals that are full of flavour, satisfying, and a far cry from the bland offerings of the past.

I’ve come across a lot of options over the years, some I go back to again and again, and others that have massive fan bases even if they’re not quite my taste. If you’re looking for quick plant-based meals that are easy and genuinely good, this is your guide.

Not sure what vegan actually means? Here’s a simple definition from the vegan society.

My Go-To Vegan Ready Meals

White Rabbit Mac & Cheese

This is comfort food at its best. Creamy, rich, and full of flavour without any weird aftertaste. It’s a decent portion, satisfying and indulgent without feeling heavy. I love that the branding is chilled, it’s just good food that happens to be vegan. Add vegan garlic bread for that extra bit of comfort.

Cook Green Thai Vegetable Curry

This one tastes like a takeaway. Loads of veg, a great balance of spice and flavour, and perfect when you want something warm and easy. Cook meals come frozen and are cook from frozen. Add rice.

Cook Vegetable & Chickpea Tagine

Warming, mildly spiced, and packed with flavour. It’s a great one to keep in the freezer and pull out on days when you want something nourishing and comforting without much effort. Add couscous.

Plant Pioneers Vegan Tikka Masala & Pilau Rice (Sainsbury’s)

I was seriously impressed by this one. The sauce is flavourful, the texture’s great, and the portion is spot on. An easy weeknight dinner that’s totally satisfying. Add a vegan naan bread.

Even if they’re not in my regular rotation, these get loads of love from people online, and with good reason.

AllPlants

Frozen, ready-to-go meals delivered to your door, with everything from mac and greens to shepherd’s pie. The portions are generous, the packaging is compostable, and they’re perfect if you want to keep a variety of high-quality meals on hand.

Wicked Kitchen (Tesco)

Bold flavours and creative dishes are what Wicked Kitchen does best. From pasta bakes to curries, they’re always experimenting, and a lot of it really hits the mark.

M&S Plant Kitchen

Fancy something with a premium feel? Plant Kitchen from M&S has your back. Think lasagne, katsu curry, and shepherd’s pie with rich sauces and spot-on textures. Great for when you want to treat yourself.

Ones That Aren’t in My Top Picks (But Might Be in Yours)

Quorn Shepherd’s Pie / Lasagne / Other Options

These aren’t my personal favourites, mostly because I’m not big on Quorn in general. But loads of people really enjoy them, and they’re widely available, which makes them a good option if you like that style and texture.

Own-Brand Options Worth a Look

Supermarkets are stepping up their game, and sometimes the own-brand vegan options are surprisingly great. Look out for:

  • Tesco Plant Chef Spaghetti Bolognese
  • Aldi Plant Menu Sweet Potato Korma
  • Asda Plant Based Chilli

All solid, budget-friendly, and ideal for weeknight dinners or backup freezer meals.
